About the Class
IMPROV FUNDAMENTALS
Develop your foundational improv skills with Navaris Darson! During this four-week course, actors will hone their acting craft through the exploration of core improvisation principles – such as being present, agreeing and adding information, making bold choices, and so much more.
In each class, students will learn and practice different improv skills that will build on each other from week to week. The purpose of this workshop is to provide students with a clear breakdown of improv fundamentals so they can practice them within various improv exercises and ultimately become competent, more confident improvisers.
Having trained and taught at The Groundling Theatre and School in Los Angeles, Navaris is an exceptional improviser and one of the best character-based improv teachers in the biz. As an instructor, Navaris is fun and caring, and he’s incredibly excited to share his wisdom and deep passion for play-pretend with the students at Verve Studios.
For this course, some acting experience is recommended, but students do not need to have prior improv experience.

Balance is no later than one week prior to first class. If registering less than one week before class starts, full tuition must be put down and is non-refundable.

IMPROV FUNDAMENTALS WORKSHOP
Come preview our new Improv Fundamentals class at Verve Studios! In this one-day workshop, our instructor, Navaris Darson, will share all of the core improvisation principles that will be explored in our upcoming four-week improv class.
In addition to getting an overview of the Improv Fundamentals course, students will play fun exercises and games and experience firsthand how improv can help them get out of their heads, inspire creativity, build confidence, and so much more!
Navaris Darson teaches remotely at The Groundlings Theatre and School in Los Angeles, which specializes in character-based improv, and he’s thrilled to be teaching this new, in-person workshop right here in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Open to adult students ages 18 and up.
