Verve Studios is a comprehensive professional actor-training boutique studio located in the Scottsdale, Arizona Airpark and on Zoom.
Led by seasoned, degreed, working professional actors, Verve Studios offers ADULT and YOUTH students the mentorship, career guidance and foundational core training they need in order to be successful, working actors.
Featuring well-planned curriculum led by expert teachers and coaches, Verve Studios’ classes are suited to serious and open actors and are limited in size in order to give each student individual, tailored attention.
The training at Verve Studios focuses on both the craft and the business of acting and creates flexible, dynamic working actors, who respect and understand the process and one another.
ADULT CURRICULUM
Acting Foundations
Taken together, the four courses in the Acting Foundation Classes will provide any actor a stable foundation with which to build upon. Covering every aspect of acting technique, the foundation classes are 1. CORE TECHNIQUE, 2. WHOLE BODY ACTING, 3. GET PERSONAL and 4. SCENE STUDY. Taken together, these lay the foundation of your technique and provide a place and opportunity to build on that foundation.
Working Actor
Verve also offers Working Actor Classes designed to give you a well-rounded education and the ability to be successful in any medium. Designed to give the actor a leg-up in the market and be completely versed in all mediums, these classes are essential counterparts to the Acting Foundation Classes. The Working Actor classes are COMMERCIALS, FILM & TV ACTING, VOICE OVER, TelePrompTer, HOSTING, MOVEMENT, VOICE, IMPROV, MONOLOGUES, ACCENTS, and SHAKESPEARE.
Students NEW to Verve Studios or new to acting are highly encouraged to start with CORE TECHNIQUE, and/or WHOLE BODY ACTING.

Acting Foundation Classes
Acting Technique Theory and application of theory through solo exercises and partnered scenes.
Focus: developing a process that will work in any acting medium or situation.
Acting technique that focuses on the whole body and connects voice and body to the text.
Focus: engaging your whole body in your acting.
3. GET PERSONAL
Acting technique focused on the emotional and personal depth needed to create rich characters.
Focus: emotional availability and application to text.
4. SCENE STUDY
Application of foundational acting technique through solo exercises, monologues and partnered scene work designed to reinforce and strengthen technique as well as stretch limitations.
Focus: breath, voice, body, mind, heart combined into your acting.
(Pre-requisite class for Scene Study is THE CORE or WHOLE BODY or by audition.)
Working Actor Classes
Comprehensive on-camera classes utilizing difficult, real-world copy and audition scenarios for the bread and butter of the Arizona industry – the commercial.
Using the camera, playback and expert coaching, courses emphasize honesty and presence in the work through practice and application with film screenplays and television scripts and sides.
Comprehensive courses that range from Introduction to Advanced Voice Over emphasizing creating variety and individuality with your voice for commercial, industrial, animation and audio books.
Using a real TelePrompTer, this course gives actors a safe place to get to know this piece of equipment commonly used in long form hosting and industrial work.
Building skills and a process for both on-camera and in-person hosting.
Techniques for film, computer animation, video games and stage performance focusing on performance projection, spatial relationships, and environmental embodiment.
A full physical, vocal and mental warm up protocol with variations that can be adapted to your available time and warm up location.
Games and exercises that free up creativity and give actors foundations to create realism through improvised character development and scene creation.
Demystifies the selection and performance of monologues for auditions and includes contemporary comedic and dramatic monologues culminating in a mock audition performance with auditors.
Courses and workshops that teach the most useful stage and screen accents and dialects.
The actor will learn to score the text and recognize the rhythm of the meter which allows a deeper understanding, stronger choices and playing the play with a fuller comprehension of the text.
