This 5-week class, taught by award-winning director and actress, Petey Swartz, explores the many elements involved in demystifying the selection and performance of monologues, along with invaluable audition tips. Class one and two will focus on dramatic monologues, with class three and four focusing on comedic monologues.
At the final class, there will be 2 monologues performances per student (one dramatic and one comedic), performed in realistic audition conditions, with instructor notes.
This is an adult class, ages 18 and up. (High School seniors wishing to prep for college auditions are welcome.)

15 HOURS OF CLASS!
3-hour class once a week for 5 weeks.
Maximum: 12 students
IN STUDIO CLASS
Covid-19 Vaccination required to participate in in-studio group adult classes. (Or weekly negative Covid-19 test results if medically unable to get the vaccine.)

Slaying the Monologue Monster
This is a 5-week class, taught Classical theatre expert Laura Winstin. Two classes will be spent on a Shakespearean monologue and two on a contrasting non-Shakespeare Classical monologue.
At the final class, there will be 2 monologues performances per student, audition style.
Students should have their monologues selected (and plays read) prior to the first class. Assistance is available in selecting material.
